I am always coming across something new and interesting worth sharing (or sometimes I simply feel like rambling) but I can’t seem to get into the habit of sitting down for a few minutes and releasing my thoughts to the digital stream of consciousness so I have been looking for a way to make it part of my routine.  Not that my thoughts are that profound (well, maybe once in a while) but I do find if I write things down it helps me to relax and look at things from a new perspective.  So, I figured I would try taking something I love, Music, and build off of that. 

When it comes to music I like to explore.  If I find something I like I look for related artists and influences or sometimes I pick a particular genre and just start listening to random songs.  To support my habit I subscribe to Zune Pass which is great since I can download all I want as long as my subscription is active (and I even get to keep 10 songs a month) so exploring is easy.

And what does all this have to do we me keeping content current on here?  My plan is to post up a new artist (new to me or at least found again) once a week with a quick blurb on what I like.  Now, for my first attempt at this I give you Red.  I came across Red listening to Octane on Sirius in the car (taking advantage of a free subscription) and luckily the name was easy to remember so I “explored” as soon as I got home.  Turns out they are a Christian Rock band (always like the Christian Rock that really rocks!) and although I think I have heard a song or two of theirs over the years I hadn’t ever listened to the full album.  Put simply These Guys Rock.  If I had to compare them to someone else it would be Linkin Park but definitely not a copy cat,  Anyway, check them out if you get a chance and watch for the next “Band to Explore”.
